if the action on the sklansky hand is correct, though there is a fair chance it is, with the limited information on the hand available it is likely fair to say david played it terribly.

Mayhap he was waiting to pop the turn, and the paired board got him flustered.

He's a big proponent of the "don't raise with a hand you're going to really sweat being reraised" theory, after all.

Limps round to Roland de Wolfe who's on the button and decides to make it 800 to go blind! Big Blind sees Roland hasn't looked and moves all in for $6,500... with 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Roland looks at his hole cards and calls. I've actually considered this sort of move a few times (raising blind to trigger a reraise and hope to find a hand worth calling/pushing over the top with) against a certain type of player. (since I play almost exclusively online I've never had the opportunity to try)

I understand how it happens here, but I don't understand how reporters mess it up so bad. Simple facts like this are the most important thing about writing and it's unfortunate that it happens as often as it does. In live reporting, things like this happen but they have been happening too much for some outlets.

From Gutshot:

Peter Costa raised with QQ and everybody folded.

Next hand: Costa got QQ and raised agin, opponent reraises all-ina and Costa calls. Opponent has AA and it holds up.

Cost got moved to another table and the first hand he is dealt is QQ. He raises and gets reraised all-in. His new opponent has AA and it holds up.

Costa still has T16,000 so he must have had a healthy stack before losing with QQ twice to AA.

If he can deal with that and not have to sit for 10 min., he's a better man than me.
