I think 20-30% of Diablo's posts are just trying to point out the inconsistancy/error in someone else's post.

Pretty weak if you ask me.

HAHAHAHA...I just found this thread because I did a search on ED's posts after wondering if the vast majority were made for that very reason. Nearly every post I've recently read has been a one or two liner stating either a) how almost everyone on this forum doesn't understand poker or b) how one person in particular doesn't understand poker.

I guess you did that search on some sort of alternative reality 2+2 or something.

Easily best list yet (except mine).

[/ QUOTE ]

I find it very curious that the same person who posted that long piece on appreciating music would make that statement.

I barely factored in the length of songs, and I'm now realizing the importance of this with only a 25 track playlist for life.

My first 2 changes based on this new insight would be
-White Discussion, + Pillar of Davidson
-Yellow Ledbetter, +Daughter (Live version w/ Another Brick in the Wall tease)

[/ QUOTE ]

Good to see you thinking, Justin. Another reason for a couple of good jazz/classical tracks. Lot of bang for the buck there.

What song is better in your opinion?

[/ QUOTE ]

I was talking about the bands, not the songs. I felt that for the type of music each of those bands play, you could find better songs by other bands for this list of 25. All three are good, I just don't think their work merits cracking the top 25.

Cranberries? Come on.

Because they suck or they aren't cool?

[/ QUOTE ]

Both. [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

Doesn't coming up with a great choice make me cool?

[/ QUOTE ]

Nah, you were cool anyway.

PS BTW, if you don't mind my asking how old is El Diablo

[/ QUOTE ]

He is 33.

After not too much thought this is what I've come up with:
Code:

Name Artist
Remember Air
Nicole Ash
I Miss You Blink-182
Don't Panic Coldplay
Fight Test The Flaming Lips
Big Me Foo Fighters
Everlong Foo Fighters
Now It's On Grandaddy
American Idiot Green Day
Say Something James
99 Problems Jay Z
Love will tear us apart Joy Division
All These Things That I've Done The Killers
The Masses Against The Classes Manic Street Preachers
Straight Outta Compton N.W.A.
Regret New Order
River Euphrates Pixies
Debaser Pixies
Wave Of Mutilation Pixies
Monkey Gone To Heaven Pixies
Losing My Religion R.E.M.
1979 Smashing Pumpkins
Sad But True Transplants
Regulate Warren G & Nate Dogg
Island in the Sun Weezer

Bear in mind that these are the only 25 songs I'm allowed to listen too, so I've chosen a variety of genres and the songs don't necessarily represent my Top 25 tunes.

My God. These are the first mentions of 1979, Wave of Mutilation and I think even New Order.

I decided against it because although I like a lot of rap, I've found that as the years have passed and I've gotten older I've liked it less and less; so I'm banking on the assumption that if I have music for an eternity I'd eventually live to regret including rap on my list.

natalie imbruglia - torn

[/ QUOTE ]

I like this song a lot too. However, if I was hardpressed to choose a song of this nature I think I'd go with Lisa Loeb "Say" or Alanis Morrisette "You Oughta Know" (preferably live) before I'd choose "Torn."
