Of course not, a chip count deal is never fair for the short stacks, if you ever are in this situation, you should always ask for more or no deal.

Naturally, I yield to your far greater tournament knowledge.

But it seems to me that it depends on stack size versus blind size. In this case, he had 16 big blinds, so you're right. However, at some point, wouldn't it be better to take the guaranteed pay bump (in this case, up to fourth, for example).

All that dickin around and he says he's been disconnected for an hour so he doesn't like the deal now, LOL. Ok, everyone was guaranteed more than 4th place, now 3 of them won't get that much. Ahh well, a deal's a deal, or not...lol
