He had an open-ended straight draw, and an overcard. He's getting 2-1 on his call. If he puts Charlie on a pair, which apparently he did, it's a good call.

Yeah, but that's no reason for berating Charlie.

I wasn't really paying attention to how the preflop went down, but I gather Charlie called a big raise with 54 soooted.

I don't think it was big. I recall there being like 4-5 people in the pot.

Hello everyone. It was a real thrill to see Men and Charley play tonight. Friday nights seem to be our flagship night as we get the most viewers and seem to have the best action because of our 500NL game. We did turn the table mic up a bit during certain times as there was a lot of interesting table talk. Jive Dadson has been a continuing crtic of the commentary stating that the table "talk" is much more entertaining than the commentators. It seems to me though that he is one of the exceptions as people constantly compliment me on how they like the commentary. I think Kev Math put it best when he said that we are not targeting the poker junkie only, we would like a wide vartiety of people to tune in, some people who may be totally new to the game. We may have been over analyzing hands at first but i think that after doing it for a few months we have found a nice balance. I can tell you that we are not moving towards less commentary or silent commentary, we may even cut the table talk portion of the show if we condense the webcast to 2 or 3 hours. What do people think about that proposed day/time change?

I wanted to address 1 hand tonight. Gore had limped in with pocket KK in early position and the pot was limped around 4-5 way.

Men the Master 3 4os.

Flop:

2 T 3 rainbow

Gore leads for 30 1 or 2 callers to big blind. MM check raises to 200. Gore Mucks. Everyone folds.

I have been a huge proponent of Gore's NL play since he started coming on the show. This pot was limped pre flop, there were people behind him when MM check raised and MM had him easily covered $2000+. If you r going to take the chance of limping with a big pocket pair from up front you better know how to get away from it if there is no raise preflop. Even though Gore had the best hand, he had no way of knowing it and I think it was the right lay down.

Join us tomorrow night for our 200NL restricted buy in game.

Good Night,

Bart

I thought the laydown was fine aswell. I don't want the show cut down. 3 Hours would be tolerable, but 2 hours is way too much of a cut. I like the breaks without commentary by the way. Just the table talk is fun.
