After a fair amount of raising and re-raising throughout.

"Jack High"
"What's your kicker"
"8"
"It's good."

At the moose lodge saturday night, first time I have ever played there. This guy told me in a money game(which he meant limit) that A8 was better than AA, and I couldnt convince him otherwise. He said maybe in no limit, but not in this.

Last time I played live, I heard two guys discussing how 5-10 was an awesome hand because it made every possible straight.

There's this one guy at my local .50/1 game who rather randomly when someone bets, the most often amount for this is $5, says, for however many the bet actually was: "Five dollas? That's, five hollas... at the standard exchange rate of one holla per dolla."

Sometimes he'll reference himself with a comment on an all in bet or other large bet "You can get a lot of hollas for that."

I'm tempted to bring in a challah (jewish ceremonial bread) sometime and prove that the standard exchange rate is not, in fact, one challah per dolla.

This was during one session at a B&M there were 2 old gentlemesn at each others throats. One was constantly rivering the other and the other was yelling at his preflop hand selection, and as the argument peaked the guy that had been constantly rivering yells 'THIS IS 5 CARD GAME NOT 2 GARD GAME!'

First round of a tourney. $100 in chips and blinds are only 1-2. I raise as the first one in to $8 with AK. Folded to the big blind who calls with 34o. Flop is A25 and he takes about a quarter of my stack by the end of the hand.

Me: "Joe, why the hell did you call with that?"
Joe: "I don't like it when people just win the blinds."

There's a nice old guy at my local casino that likes to say "check to my buddies" when he has a weak draw. It's funny to hear when you're looking around the table at a bunch of serious poker-faced assholes.
