Wow, it would suck to be so close it came down to a bridge ranking of suites...

Hold'em doesn't resort to suits, generally speaking.

That'd just be a split pot.

PP's got a Progressive JackPot? If so then the big question is, at what Jackpot level are you gaining an edge from the Feature by jumping into the game? Anybody know?

i attempted to figure out just the odds of TTTT losing to JJJJ as a first step.

hand 1 is TT: 52c2/6 = 221:1
hand 2 is JJ: 50c2/6 = 204.1667:1
ways for 2 hands to be dealt at a full table: 10c2 = 45
TT and JJ are dealt at a full table: 221*204/45 = 1002:1

flop is TtJjx:
(2/48)*(1/47)*(2/46)*(1/45)*(44/44) = 1,167,480:1

that flop any order: 1167480/5! = 9729:1

so... TT and JJ being dealt to a full table and both making four of a kind is 9729*1002 =~ 9,755,124:1

if this is correct, figuring out the odds of all foak ten or higher losing to another foak is fairly straightforward (straight flushes much less so :P), but please correct me before i sink further from the truth!

But you could have AT, your opponent JJ, and the board TJTJT
Your hand is TTTTA using both hole cards!

oops... on the board, i should have used 1/48*1/47*1/46*1/45 since i correct for permutations, so i'm off by a factor of 4... make it 39 million to 1

donkeyradish you're right, of course.

if my numbers are right for TT/JJ/TTJJx i'm 20% of the way there, as multiplying by 10 covers the pairair:AABBX possibilities from TT:JJ through KK:AA
phase 2 is AT:JJ:TJTJT
phase 3 is TT:AcKc:TTJcQcX
phase 4 is TJ:6c7c:TTT9c8c
phase 5 is 2c3c:7c8c:4c5c6cXX

they get progressively harder, so i'm starting with the easy one and trying to learn as i go

PP bad beat jackpot requires using BOTH hole cards, not just one.

And your point is?

Your hand has 5 cards in it, not 4

Thats a good point. If you had 10-Ace, I guess you would be using both cards if 3 tens came up.
