2/4 is the limit I have played for the most time and I have moved up pretty much as soon as I had the roll for the next limit on party, so I needed to make 150 bets there to get to 3/6 (1200-1800). After the first 10.5 hours I was up 108 BBs, then I went on a loosing streak. In the end it took about 2 months to make those 150 bets. It took less than a month making 600BBs at .5/1...

All I´m saying is that you probably wanna play some more before you state that the .5 players are better than the 2/4.

[ QUOTE ]
Look at the % preflop at party
44% .5/1
37% 1/2
38% 2/4
31% 3/6

Webster: Is that your own data, or from some other source? Always looking for more info, and Party doesn't provide much.

Thanks.

Well Im not Webster but here is my data from Pokertracker.

$0.50/$1.00 - 42.99% saw flop (4,347 hands)
$1.00/$2.00 - 35.31% saw flop (5,886 hands)
$2.00/$4.00 - 35.93% saw flop (1,827 hands)

I assume that all of the above data includes myself at approximately 13% VPIP so all of those percentages probably need to be raised 2.0%-2.5% to account for Party as a whole.

benfranklin - own data - I actually have the numbers broken down by month and it is getting tighter - not unexpected though because of summer.

The table selection is basically random (don't believe in table selection at Party). sure sure - say what you want - but my bottom line is doing fine thank you over the past year.

Hiyas,

I wouldn't get too carried away. The players at 2/4 are pretty bad, but I dont think they are easier then the players at .5/1. You could also easily be running very well over 2 sessions. Not trying to say you arent a winning player, but 2 sessions is very little.

Look at it this way - After going 10 months winning in 2/4 I became a losing player in May at the tune of (-1.55) BBs per hour.

In June so far after 1600 hands my win rate is an astounding 11.22BBs per our at 2/4 . Overall at Party I'm a nice solid 2.11BB per hour.

My point is "it's the long run" In May not for a second did I think I was a losing player (well , a few seconds maybe) YET - I lost, In June not for a second do I think I'm a 10+BB per hour player (well, perhaps a few seconds )

2/4 players are not pretty bad - they are average WITH some pretty bad players mixed in.

Your last paragraph says it all. Nothing to be scared of.

A friend of mine is SLOWELY moving up from .25/.5 to .5/1. He probebly knows poker better then I do, yet I have more experience. His 1st trip to .5/1 he said he was nervous because he was not playing with "the big boys".

I almost have Mountain Dew coming out my nose!!!
