Default Re: Neteller is screwing the Debit Card exchange rates! MUST READ!

No Granny. I think you are wrong.

This is the exchange rate when I transfer money from my neteller account to my neteller debit card. Before I take it out by an ATM

And in the last year I have made 16 transfers from my account to my debit card. And they have all been all right. This is something new neteller is doing.
And you can check it yourself. If you transfer, let say, $1000 USD to your card. Your estimated balance on your card would be something like $975-$980 USD. Before if you would transfer $1000 USD, your estimated balance would be $1000. So this is new. An extra $20-$25 in fee's. Compared to the old one off $2.

And I have got my balance on my debit card from the debit card department. (They sent it in a .word file. "Please find attached a copy of your debit card statement for May 1, 2004 up to and including May 23, 2004."

Neteller always has a good current rate of exchange when depositing dollars into pounds, and a terrible rate when going out from pounds to dollars (at least in relation to TotalBet). I doubt this is a coincidence. I figure I lose 3% every cash out.

but this just sounds like total is doing the screwing, not NETeller. Total may very well be making money off the exchange. anyhoo, you guys certainly know what is happening in your accounts better than i could know. all of this is the reason why i use the $11 fedex if i don't want to do the eft for that withdrawal.

let me back outta this thread before greenspan ups the interest rates and i get the blame.

This is something new neteller is doing.

then they should have posted it as a fee change. please let us know what they said when you hear back. i have many friends that use that card, and don't want to pay $25 either.

i will be interested to see NETellers response to froggy's email. i've always gotten replies from them right away, so hopefully he won't have to wait like you did. also, if i were you i would resend your question or call them.

I have already doing that. But still haven't got an answer.
And on an other forum (a Swedish poker forum) a guy (real843, he have an account here also) had talked to live help and they said that they had started to take out a 3% exchange fee. So this is really neteller that is doing it.

I agree with this. Nothing seems to burn more than a "hidden" fee. Just be up front about the new fee and let us decide. When Firepay started taking big chunks of my cashouts (twice) I hit the road and started using NETELLER full time. At least Firepay had previously e-mailed me about the fee change and I couldn't claim to be victim of a hidden fee.

Neteller uses a set exchange rate.

They sent it to me in an email if you want it let me know with a PM.

They said that one could find some better and some worse exchange rates, they just use their own 'average' of what is out there since it changes daily.

jw, can you remove your personal info and post it here? if it is too much of a personal reply i understand if the answer is no. if it is them answering a general question you posed about this maybe we can take a looksee also.

Hey Gran,

They sent it to me as a bunch of jpgs. so I cannot post it here

Unless someone can explain to me how to 'host it' somewhere?
