Re: Live 5/5 NLHE at Foxwoods
[ QUOTE ]
I much prefer paying time to paying a rake [/ QUOTE ] Why? If you're a tight player at a raked game, you're only paying the house for the hands you're involved in, whereas at a time game you're paying the house something for every hand. Seems to me that raked games favor tight players whereas timed games hurt tight players. Do you have a specific reason for preferring paying time? The Doc P.S. The $1/$2 NL at the Borgata is raked, 10% to $4. Cheapest game in town. |

Re: Live 5/5 NLHE at Foxwoods
1) raking the pot in a big bet game is time consuming as the dealer will frequently have to make change (white chips don't play in the games I play), and in some cases is distracting for the dealer.
2) since rakes favor tight players, I think this influences the game over time. I like to play in loose games, and IMO time charges make for looser games overall since loose players aren't punished by the rake. I would much rather play in a game that tight players don't like . personally, I've played in a live raked game once or twice. my local club charges time, so I'm just really used to always paying time. --turnipmonster |

Hey sniper,
Bet the pot on the flop, then either fold or call a raise, depending on your read. Otherwise, you were fine. ML4L |
