is that good?

It's $25 for every player who paid a $40 entry fee.

i think it is wrong that it was distributed according to regular payout. should have been chopped even imo.

the stallers are crazy now. they need to go h4h at 100 and less.

this will take hours

edit..

if you add 50k to appease the masses, that's good business. however, if you were to poll all those remaining, i bet they would agree that adding 10k to a 240k payout defeats the purpose of making up for a stalled tourney.

Normally I'd agree, but they've still charged $30,000 to run this farce.

I had something similar happen to me. I called and demanded no less than a full refund for the tournament, threatening to close all my accounts and go back to Paradise or Stars (I also pointed out the amount of rake I had paid in the past month alone). I got a full refund for it(150+15 tournament).

Even with 50k added, if I lost out on 30 minutes worth of play and finished on the bubble, I would still be pissed.

for those not in the know, party's resolution was to add 50k to the prize pool, then give 1k to everyone who finished between 131-163. (the tournament originally paid 130 places, and there was 163 when they paused the tourney to finally correct the problem.)

this is some complete idiocy if i have ever seen it. why should the players from the paused tables be rewarded even more? if party is going to add money they should give some to the people who were busted out while the two tables remained stalled, greatly increasing the EV of every player there.

the best part was seeing a guy from one of the tables complaining about the stall. the blinds were 400-800 when the tables got stalled at 300 players, he had 1300 chips. the blinds were 750-1500 when he got back with 163 players left, and he was blinded out in a few hands. which situation do you think gives him a better chance of making the money?

actually, the best part is that i was watching a table as it crashed. during the pause, there was a player named davidfaulk that proceeded to scream and moan and bitch and curse that party was absolutely gonna pay and how screwed up it was.

HE WAS ANGRY!!

he also took second for $125,000.00...
think he feels foolish for being a crybaby?

Just because things worked out well for the guy doesn't mean he didn't have a valid point. People paid a lot of money to enter the tournament with a certain set of rules and that applied to everyone equally. Once Party decides to give preferential treatment to specific players midway through the tournament people have the right to be upset.

I think a fair way to resolve the problem would be offering all people affected a complete refund of their buy-in if they wanted to quit at this point. A few minor issues with this, but since they were willing to add 50k to the prize pool anyway, nothing that couldn't be taken care of with relative ease (25k to the prizepool and 25k to be divided equally and given to the people that wanted to quit so they didn't feel like their time was completely wasted).
