Re: Stud structure question
if you do this you will need to adopt the Sklanski rule.

Re: Stud structure question
Might I suggest a 20 euro cent ante a 1 euro bring in and 2 and 4 euro limits. this would limit the action to three coins and perhaps one note the 10. since you are probably playing 2 4 HE with one and two euro coinage the addition of the .20 euro coin will be slight.
the high side of this is that there is no worry about counterfet chips and the governing body will bear the coinage making expences wombat6 |

Re: Stud structure question
Have I ever seen a good player call the $2 bring-in and then fold for another $2 in a $4/8 game? I don't think so. There aren't that many good stud players in my local room, and a lot of the better ones won't bother with $4/8. Would you ever make this fold?

Re: Stud structure question
I'd bet you can think of at least 3 senarios that would make a fold like this correct.

Re: Stud structure question
$4/8 game with a $.50 ante. I limp in early for $2 with whatever. Completed behind me and everyone folds. Counting the dollar in rake that's coming out, I'm getting 5.5:1 on my call, which closes the action. There is no hand that I would limp in early with that I wouldn't call the other $2 with. Even if you could contrive a scenario where a fold would be correct, I still wouldn't do it. If you make laydowns like this, you invite people to take shots at you.

Re: Stud structure question
What we do in our home game when we switch from holdem to stud is we that we still rotate the deal and have the dealer ante for the group. We do this so that we don't have to use any lower denomination chips. For example if we were playing 2-4 holdem with blinds of $1 and $2 we could switch to 2-4 stud and have the dealer toss in an ante of $2 for the group and have the lowest card bring it in for $1. Then we have essentially the same amount of "blind money" to get the action started without the pains of using a lower denomination chip than is required for holdem.

Re: Stud structure question
Since this is a home game spread what you want.
