Re: Where is the easiest place to make a living from poker.
There's no tax on gambling winnings in the UK either. However, it's a bit of a dump IMO . And London's rent is insane.

Re: Where is the easiest place to make a living from poker.
Given that you already live around Boston why not give Foxwoods a try? One can get a bus there for about $5 after coupons within a 2 hour radius (provided you are a break even blackjack player), they have many games to choose from ranging from 1:3 to 300:600 most days, and there are inexpensive places to live within that 2 hour radius.

Costa Rica vs. LA
If people think LA beaches are great, they haven't seen Costa Rican beaches.
The same goes for the women. And these ones will actually be impressed by your online poker earnings. On the downside, live action in Costa Rica appears to have dropped off unless you play very big or very small. |

Re: Where is the easiest place to make a living from poker.
California poker is very soft, all across the state (so I've heard).
For low limits, San Diego is a better place to play than LA; the LA rake at low limits is insane. At mid- to high-limits, LA is the place to be (in Cali). Plus, it's a five-hour drive to Vegas. If you're planning on grinding, then (depending on limits) I would recommend living far enough from LA to be cheap but short enough that the commute doesn't kill you. Somewhere south or east of LA might be best, depending on whether you'd be hitting San Diego or Vegas more often. -Cosimo |

la is best if you play higher than 20-40, but if you don't, it isn't, and neither is vegas. it's scottsdale.

US Government Killing Online Poker?
I would not worry about the US government killing online poker.
First, there are plenty of non US players to keep the rooms filled. Second and most importantly, the US government is incapable of accomplishing any publicly stated goals other than shaking down its citizens for more of their income. |

Tunica?
Just curious how you guys think Tunica, MS would fit into all of this. Definitely has to have one of the lowest costs of living of the aforementioned...

Re: Tunica?
You can probably buy the entire town of Sugar Ditch for the price of an average pot in a $10/20 game. The question is, would you want to?
If you do move there be sure to go get some fried pickles at the Hollywood. |

Re: Tunica?
Tiltboy, your response made me laugh I take it you live somewhere near Tunica? I am from Memphis, but haven't played in any of the cardrooms in Tunica yet.
