I believe the mans name was Russ Boyd.
I was always under the impression Russ was much older than Dutch. |

Sam, these aren't creditors, nor are they investors. They're customers. It's like starting a business, taking orders and prepayment for products, then closing the business without delivering the product, and using the money paid for those undelivered products to fund another venture. That's fraud.

If he's going to take his anger out on someone, why the cats? He should hunt down Dutch and take it out on him.

[ QUOTE ]
I'm not familiar with how the Pokerspot collapse went down. Boyd may have deceived, manipulated, and lied to players with money at the site. I don't know, but would hardly be surprised. I do know that one reason why people incorporate their businesses is to protect themselves personally from liability and creditors if the business fails. This is an integral part of spurring innovation and entreprenuerialism in capitalist societies. If leading one failed business left you under a pile of debt that you could never escape, why would anybody take the risk? I can't speak to Mr. Boyd's conduct or ethics. But I think it's naive to expect him personally to pay back Pokerspot's creditors. In the business media, one often finds feel-good stories about entrepreneurs who finally make it after a series of failed business ventures. Do you think these people then pay back all of the jilted creditors from their previous enterprises? [/ QUOTE ] Players aren't creditors. Creditors assume a financial risk because it offers a financial gain. The player's money should never have been risked, as they were not eligible for any gain. While he may be protected by the corporate shield, that doesn't make him any better of a person for not vowing to pay back what he screwed the players out of. Now, he's busy starting a new company, it's a travesty he has the money to do that, but claims he doesn't have the money to pay back the people he screwed over. LOL, keep dreaming. He has never claimed any personal responsibility for the debt. He just blaims the intermediary who handled the e-deposits.
That's like the casino hiring a teller who pockets the money you buy chips with, and then having the casino tell you that they can't pay you for your chips and it's not their fault, they're sorry, but they owe you nothing. |

Terry,
As has been asked and not answered in later posts to this thread, it was Dutch Boyd (the boy wonder that went to college at age 12 etc....)that started Pokerspot and not Russ Boyd , correct? Russ Boyd is the alleged cheater that has talked with Mike Caro about the millions(?) that he bilked from unsuspecting whales. Am I totally off on this?.....I'm so confused |
