Agreed, but remember... this was a draw to the 5th nut flush.
And...? |

First off, I said I agreed!!
The "And..." is to point out that your almost 2-1 draw with 4 opponents isn't quite as juicy as you'd like it to be, since 1 of them could be on a bigger flush draw. EDIT: Fix my grammar. |

You should allways agree with my posts (read the FAQ) since 1 of them could be on a bigger flush draw. True, 1 of them could also be on a smaller flush draw - anyway my post was aimed at Baseball for wanting to muck on the flop! |

Playing a hand like this is certainely one of my weaknesses,
For the most part I probably would have dumped this pre-flop in the SB in my $1/$2 Party games if there any considerable action. Is this not a good play? Secondly if I did play and flopped a four flush I would play it rather aggressively on the flop. How would you play it if another spade falls on either of the streets? Thanks! |

you may be c/r'ing into a bigger flush. it is a possibility. they all see the flush card and know that 2 players have been coldcalling. id bet out and call a raise.
what if you check and the CO bets. do you really like it? he's been coldcalling along with you except the flop. but he did cold call the turn. say you c/r then get 3 bet...youd have to fold when you could play it differently and see the showdown. id only like to put 2 bets in here max. unless im against total idiots. id also bet out since that's why i played my hand this far. so that when i hit it i can bet it. but it's not strong enough to try for a c/r, IMO. even though flush over flush is rare. that, and the fact youll be kicking yourself if it got checked through. b |

if you only have to put in 1/2 a bet preflop, this is an easy completion preflop.
then once you hit your draw, youre in til the river. that's the main reason your playing this hand is for the flush draw. and unless the board pairs or the 4 flush shows up. then you have a decision. ive seen it many times....some of the biggest pots ive seen are won by baby flushes. b |

I think betting is best. Any even remotely observant opponent has to think you are on a flush draw, and like you said your checkraise will likely fold the BB anyway thus not gaining any additional bets (although I suppose the extreme fishiness of the CO could make up for it)

I'd play it in a 1/2 or 2/4 game, but would dump it in 3/6. that extra 1/6 of a SB makes all the difference.

Another thing, if the board pairs and is a spade on the river, that could spell doom. So it might be 7 flush outs instead of 9 that Homer's looking for.

This was 3-6 with a 1 dollar sb.
