Re: Screwed the riv. I think.
[ QUOTE ]
Why? [/ QUOTE ] Because i'm a weak-tight gimp. [ QUOTE ] We have no indication that SB has a diamond or a J. I'm value betting my pair. Pairs are good hands. [/ QUOTE ] this is true. I suppose villain can have ace high or a smaller pair on the board millions of times. with 2nd pair crappy kicker, an overcard and the three-flush arriving all at once, i'd pussy out and take the free SD for fear of being checkraised. Once c/red I'd fold, as noone i've ever met at 1/2 is tricksy enough to c/r bluff on that board. In return, I agree that you ought to value bet. I'm clearly not strong enough |

Re: Screwed the riv. I think.
Well played. But in a small pot with a semi-ugly card and a river check-raise, you won't beat anything but a bluff. And villains don't often check/raise bluff the river at 1/2. But you definately want a value bet here. So bet/fold. NH.

Re: Screwed the riv. I think.
id say this is clearly either B/F, or B/C, depending a great deal on reads.
as you dont have them here, i think you played this just fine. to the poster who just replied with "i check this too", and then when questioned replied with " because im a weak tight gimp", id ask him why he felt the need to reply to this post in the first place. not trying to be rude but dont reply with advice unless you at least *belive* it to be good advice. a better thing to put would have been "im unsure about these situations too, at the moment i check behind but im not sure thats good" or something like that. sorry for rant, and again its not mant to be personal. |
