That site is kind of interesting...

Thanks. I was in fact the person who added the notable finishes.

Cheers.

For those who don't know...All In is a new book about the history of the WSOP.
I paged through it at a Barnes and Noble the other day and it looks to be very interesting.
I'm sure I'll get around to purchasing it sooner or later.

Anyone with any interest in the WSOP would probably get some enjoyment out of it I would guess.

All In is great. Lots of information on the Bones Berland's and Jessie Alto's, recaps of every ME, etc. Anyone who bothered to check out this thread would probably enjoy it.

Boy, he needs to go get a hooker or something when there are 25 players left.

The book says: Johnny Moss $30,000, Puggy Pearson $0.

Telly Savalas came in 21st in 1992! Ha ha ha. That rules for some reason.

I've noticed that in the early years of the WSOP, there was no rake. In 1979 for instance there were 54 players with a total prize pool of $540,000, which was split among the top 5 finishers. What's up with that, and when did this change?

Total guess here, but I'd think it changed either when Benny Binion died or when Jack Binion left, probably the latter. verify/deny?

It could have been 10000 + X. Or the winners just gave the Binion's and the dealers a nice tip.
