Re: Do you reraise this river?
POKhER - the point here is to try to come up with a range for this guy. based on that range we can say it's +EV or -EV to 3-bet. the only question is what is his range? he's in the big blind, so it's huge. if we say his range is all possible two pair hands, all possible set hands, and all straight hands, this is a very obvious 3-bet. you really have to start discounting a lot to get to the point where you should not 3-bet this.
try it. assume he only ever caps with the straights but that we're going to pay him off anyway. assume he always just calls with two pair hands and worse set hands (ignore higher sets for simplicity). how often does he have to have a straight to make reraising incorrect? then ask yourself if he has a straight that often. |

...what? These wierd responses, never understood. [/ QUOTE ] It doesn't matter what the hand the BB had in the original post was. That would be results orientated thinking. So wanting to see if he had the straight would be wrong. Suppose you three bet and are called 30% of the time by a worse hand, calls with a nonnut straight 20%, he folds a desperation bluff 18%. And he raises the nut straight 30%, and rebluffs 2%. Do you gain money by three betting and calling or three betting and folding? Over a few hundred times... THAT is what matters. And that is what your decision should be based on. |

Re: Do you reraise this river?
Why are we arguing?
This should be an easy cap. If you don't raise in these situations you lose a lot of bets. |
