Re: boring?
Calling the turn raise without a read is a tough one for me. I don't like that the sb cold called two on the flop and then check raised a nothing card on the turn. It doesn't seem like any kind of a bluff to me. I would expect that you are definitely behind on the turn, and need to improve to two pair or better to win this one. Folding on the turn would be standard if I knew the opponent was passive, and it's a toss up against an unknown. I think that folding the turn is likely the best here, since you are going to be pretty tempted to call the river unimproved with those odds.

Re: boring?
i wouldn't play it differently, but i can see wanting to fold. 11.5:1 to hope he has a worse queen or is an idiot though, i can't lay that down.

Re: boring?
I feel like an idiot. Hero is clearly behind here. 1) cold call preflop 2) innocous turn card 3) MP still to act after he bet the flop.
I usually call down because I own a little birdie that tells me to 'dont fold, dont fold', when i have top pair. But I now think the correct play is to call the turn and fold UI. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, so I'll cook that bird then. |

Re: boring?
QJ - 8 combos
QT - 8 combos =16 combos you beat, let's say a 3/6 unknown plays them this strongly 25% of the time (i don't know what do you think that number is?), so 4 combos 77 - 3 combos 22 - 3 combos 99 - 3 combos Q7 - 6 combos Q9 - 6 combos 79 - 9 combos = 30 combos 7.5:1, so a river call if he plays QT or QJ like this 25% of the time, and it looks like you can make that number even lower and still have a call |

Re: boring?
If the board looked more bluffable, say, 3 to a straight, how does that change our approach?

Re: boring?
I think it looks fine. I have played this just like the SB did when I had top pair and the other players were laggy.

I think a guy who plays it like that would be noticed before this hand. I suppose if villian just sat down then you can call the river. |
