Re: Question for Canadian Players
In Edmonton the biggest games going are :
the pot limit dealers choice (omaha, holdem) at the baccarat thursday thru saturday. no limit holdem with max buy in (varies from 100 up to 500) at argyle, yellowhead and palace usually only on thursday friday and saturday 10 -20, 15 - 30 games at the yellowhead and argyle mostly low limit holdem around town tournaments on pretty much every night at different casinos with the best being 100 buy in freeze out on saturday at the argyle and the 60 buy in with 20 rebuys that goes on sundays alternating between the yellow head and argyle. poker scene is pretty good for a small city but most of the action is at low limit no foldem holdem tables. the no limit cash tables are unbeleivably weak IMO. in the fall of 2006 a new destination resort casino will be complete just outside of edmonton on one of the reserves. i might wait until this is complete before making a poker road trip to this city. then again, if your bro is 18 he might be itching to get out and gamble and either here or calgary would be your best bet. FYI, its about a 3 hour drive from edmonton to calgary it you wanted to try them both out. |

Re: Question for Canadian Players
Added note to Edmonton Mainly 3/6 but on friday and saturday 5/10 with kill.
Also note the Enoch Indian Reservation is building a large casino/hotel operation on the cities borders. They should have a nice poker room. Also note the Yellowhead has the poorest service of all casinos but great food. |
