Re: BEWARE OF FIREPAY
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] They are in canada, I'm in the U.S.---don't think they would take my threat over legal action very serious. I have thought about sending them an e mail telling them exactly what you suggested, that I am disclosing their thievery in every way possible. Just sux---was very, very, very frustrating to deal with. You just don't have any recourse if they decide to screw you. [/ QUOTE ] Send them a link to this thread. [/ QUOTE ] Just sent them an e mail. I will see what they say (if they get back to me). If nothing else this has some entertainment value now. Don't know how to send a link to the thread (basically if my computer has something go wrong with it I just start to cry). Re: BEWARE OF FIREPAY
I've had a Firepay account forever. Never a problem. In some ways, it's better than Neteller. One isolated problem does not make the place worthless.
I suspect we aren't hearing the whole story. These places are not out to screw you over. |

Of course the vast majority of people won't have a problem, but those that do will have a major one. The 'whole story'? It's all there in the original post. They took the $500---that's why over 2 years later I am posting this---I have made it as clear as I possibly could. |

Re: BEWARE OF FIREPAY
Firepay is located in Ireland and is probably subject to Irish banking laws. Have you tried contacting someone in the government there? Surely they have to answer to someone. This is not some Central American fly-by-night outfit.

Re: BEWARE OF FIREPAY
At this point I have not retained any of my original records, which were detailed---names, dates, time of day called, topics discussed, etc.
I used to joke with the one Firepay employee who actually was working to help me (before they were removed from the case) that even if I recovered the money, it was going to be worth about $6.50 an hour in my time consumed. I was surprised at the time as you are---this isn't a casino in Southern America. Had I had money kept by a shady online sportsbook or casino, I would have just chalked it up to a bad decision on my part and given it up from day one. The reason I pursued it relentlessly for a year was the assumption that they would as a legitimate company investigate the matter properly, and I would prevail. I knew that they were not located in the U.S., and I couldn't imagine getting involved in the labyrinth of another country's laws. Especially getting anyone to take a hard look over 500 clams---maybe for $50,000 I would have looked into it. I have been contacted by someone who is going to look into the situation, though due to the passage of time and their original response I am not too enthusiastic. Let me clarify one thing though--- I am not enthusiastic over Firepays likely response, but I am extremely grateful to the person who contacted me and is looking into the matter on their own initiative. If anything comes of it I will post. |
