badbeat or not, I banged my desk repeatedly [/ QUOTE ] This is perfectly understandable and encouraged in this situation. Optimal play would have been to kick the dog or beat the wife. |

Re: just a badbeat

[ QUOTE ] btw, how do you define a badbeat? [/ QUOTE ] Agree with 4_2_it, this was not a bad beat. Definition per Pokertips.org: Bad Beat: A bad beat is a loss in which the losing player had the better odds on the winning player earlier in the hand. In general, the term is used when all the chips go in the pot when the losing player had odds. [/ QUOTE ] isn't that what just happened? |

Re: just a badbeat
In my definition a real Bad Beat is when all the money (or 95%+ of the money) goes in when you are a 15:1 favourite (or bigger), you lose, AND your opponent plays the hand poorly.
Pretty tough requirement but I think its a good thinking because with less requirements you will have bad beats 1-2 times every session every day and that not good for kharma or way of thinking of the game. |

[/ QUOTE ] Were all your chips in the pot? meaning in the pot on the flop. you have no control over bad beats, but when all your chips are not in the pot, you have a choice of folding your hole cards on the turn. IMO. |
