I had intended to check raise the river. I had never seem him not bet to a check so.....

I did whimp on the turn. He could have almost anyhting. I would have checked and called dwon the river with the 9s. When Ace hit river I was planning the check raise.

I think you gave up too early. And I bet this river.

I like a turn donk against this opponent. Lead the river.

Why do you feel a turn donk is superior to 3-beting the flop and leading the turn, or calling down if capped? How do you handle a turn raise?

I like raising pf, 3-betting the flop, and leading el rio until Jaran convinces me otherwise.

Okay, I'm confused. The consensus here seems to be to bet the flop. I'm not sure why. We have mptk, but no redraw. The board is very coordinated, with a flush draw. What is the flop bet for? To get it heads up with villian? Any flush draws are coming along for the ride. Please help me understand this.

The way it was played, I think we need to 3-bet the flop and lead the rest of the way. We are heads up and think we've probably got the best hand, though villian could have anything.

Raise preflop, have fun on the flop, lead river and have fun there too.

why would you check-raise the river against a player that raises too much?

With this guy, I think a good majority of the time I'm gonna be able to bet/3bet the turn. I wait because our equity changes dramatically flop/turn. With this read, until he caps the turn on a blank, in my mind he has nothing (and even a turn cap, I'm c/c'ing the river w/o improvement). I would rather do this on the turn than on the flop. And yes, raise pf.

i'll take a shot that any 8/J/Q/7/maybe a [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] would screw our hand. i think our hand goes from best to worst from flop to turn real quick.

Hi redd with 2nd pair and such a scary board and my inability to not showdown against a monkey like the villian is in this hand i really don't want the flop getting capped. With a stop and go i think we get just as much value out of villian don't give any free cards and avoid spewing chips with a marginal hand out of position but i don't have a problem with any line taken here as long as it includes betting the turn.

This particular opponenet was betting and raising with absolutely nothing his raises and bets had no meaning. He played virtually every hand 23o was good enough for him and would play through the river with them betting and raising. So I think I have a monster hand at this point
