And there is no comparison between 3/6 and 1/2 6max. 2/4 will get you ready for 3/6

[/ QUOTE ]

What do they say? 1/2 is the land of the value bet and 3/6 is the land of the value raise. Is that how it goes?

Play 2/4 on party in both full and short-handed tables. 1/2 6m can in fact be an ATM but it doesn't build the skill set it once used to.
Reason for playing 2/4 full: it can be just as aggressive as a 6m game but it benefits from 6m experience b/c you learn how to truly isolate the weaker players. It also teaches you some discipline to be in a slightly bigger game with some thinking opponents. It is a good step in your poker evolution and once you start beating 2/4 games, you'll be thankful you did it.
3/6 6m is so aggressive and the opponents are much better than 2/4 (let alone 1/2). You won't be catching people in pure bluffs like you did at 1/2 all that often, and they will punish you if you are not careful. It's a fun game at 3/6 6m, but you probably need a little work before you get there as 1/2 is just not enough experience for it.
Best of luck and congrats on beating 1/2 6m, it is the beginning to much greater things for your bankroll!

yea, I've heard that before, but basically 1/2 6max is full of weak players/passive players. In 3/6 you are getting some tight aggressives and they play at you stronger. Table selection and seat selection at 3/6 is vital, where as in 1/2 most any table you play at is fine.

You can find weak players at all levels, you just have to look for them. And as you move up, you may have to fight against a tag or 2 over who gets to take the most money from the weakies at the table, but they are still there. It's just the presence of more tags you see as you move up.

Make the move to the party 2/4 game and actively seek out shorter tables (the best of both worlds). Also, the skills you've hopefully aquired playing 6max should have made you into a more complete full ring player who actually knows how to play well around the blinds.

This answer is correct.

Don't jump from 1/2 short --> 3/6 short. You will lose lots of money.
