why draw the line at 44? why play 55/66?

im not arguing with the choice, just wondering at the reasoning

say you are playing deep shorthanded, you raise with ALL pairs and whenever you get raised you KNOW your opponent has QQ/KK/AA or maybe AK if theyre that type, COUNTERINTUITIVELY you can call with a much larger hand range then if they make this play with many hands, becaise you know when you hit youre going to get paid off, and theres no doubt as to the scenarios that will occur, with you most often check folding

i think, and i may be disuaded of this in the future or i may recieve some sort of confirmation, that the key to NL is being unpredictable and never being able to be nailed down to that tight range

in my experiences with the biggest NL ive played (10/20 live uncapped and 5/10 online) i dont find too many players that deviate from this very often unless its an obvious button raise from a LAG type of scenario, perhaps at even higher stakes this changes

but yes, its obviously not good, i take it that means you are agreeing with me?

Well at the stakes I play (200-400), I see people reraise 57o, A3o, AQs etc out of the blinds. Some of these guys are just borderline retarded, but others are competent. Yes, this happens against LAG button raiser (i.e. me), but when you're down to 3 or 4 handed, blinds steals from the button are obviously very common.

Against solid players, I've been dumping 22-44 pre-flop recently. I think this is a profitable adjustment.

[/ QUOTE ]

Iam yet to encounter solid players cause on my current level I would rather muck AK soooted than mighty 22.

Best wishes
