results
i called and lost to AA obviously... i think the point is he doesn't shove here without a hand i'm beating for that much money. we're so quick to shove it in with KK but i think in this situation it makes so much more sense to muck. i am rarely mucking AA there so if he doesn't have AA he wouldn't shove (like with a flush draw) because it would be too l ikely that i had AA. so i think this is a fold generally.

Re: results
Of course he shoves a flush draw here. Especially if it is A-high or he hit a pair as well.
Tough situation. |

Re: KK under pressure
[ QUOTE ]
any reasoning behind that decision? what's azk's range here iny our opinion? [/ QUOTE ] One question is, what sorts of hands will he call pot-sized preflop reraises with? Another question is, will he put all his money in with QQ here? I think the answers are: a) pocket pairs, suited connectors, suited aces. b) no. So you have two possibilities when captain loosey-goosey check/raises allin on a flop like this, a made hand stronger than KK, or a strong draw. You don't have much edge against the draw, and you have big -EV if you end up calling while behind. |

Re: KK under pressure
Don't play KK. Ever. You have too much trouble with it. Start over and re-evaluate...
Is 325 standard? That said, I'm guessing he'll know that you'll know he'll be making his raise with a wide range of hands preflop after that limper and that you, knowing this, will reraise with any two playable cards. With this knowledge, he also knows that when you do that you'll be forced to steal the pot on tame looking flops often to make your play profitable when he calls, so his range could be pretty wide here. I know you're running poorly, but this is not a spot where I think folding is appropriate. With stack sizes and your image and history with AZK, I don't think QQ or JJ or impossible hands to be up against. Edit: As a side, I note the pot is 680 and you bet 450. How often do you bet pot here? How often do you check-raise? I don't hate the idea of a check call here either, not for pot control issues, but to take full advantage of QQ and JJ. |

Re: KK under pressure
how has noone torn this guy a new ahole by now?
as regards the hand, raise more preflop or just call then you have enough of your stack in OOP against a good player that the hand is much easier OR your hand is disguised i watch one of my friends constantly play big pairs like this and it makes me sick, you give everything away and RARELY will be stacking QQ |
