1. If you think this thread is useless simply ignore it
2. I understand that being past about 20 your high school test scores don't mean anything really but Most of the posters here are college age or younger and I am just curious about this
3. David Sklansky said (trying to remember it correctly) that there is a direct coorelation between IQ and poker ability, (I think he said up to an IQ of 150).
4. I am really interested in people with lower scores, 'cause I am wondering if someone who is say in the bottom 60% could study poker enough to win consistantly online
5. I don't know how else to acurately poll intelligence quickly in a forum then using Standardized tests. I am not going to make a doctoral thesis out of this, just curous, so plz relax

36/1480, but I'm probably in the lower 50% in poker ability compared to most of the regular posters. And I know people who did much worse on standardized tests and can take my money.

SAT - 1520 (800 math)

ACT - 34 (35 math)

I'm still in the learning stage of poker however.

when i was young, like 7, I had an IQ of 160 or something. its been all down hill from there intelligence-wise. I would like to think i'm at like 130-140ish right now but i don't know or care if I am. i did get 2160 (equiv 1440 or so?) on the new sat and 31 on the act while refusing to study for either.

I'd be more interested in knowing a commonly successful score for something like EQ.

I suspect that raw intelligence makes it possible for you to be a long-term winner, but something like EQ actually controls whether you are a long-term winner.

I'm easily a long term winner and I did VERY poorly on these EQ tests.

Just because other peoples' emotions don't concern me as much as I should (for example), it doesn't make me a worse poker player. I'd say it makes me better.

I have a temper in life but I can control myself quite well when most people would tilt.

Poker is much different than other aspects of life.

there was interesting article in cardplayer on this exact subject. they didnt go into detail about IQ or EQ test scores, but they came to the conclussion that intelligence does normally correlate with poker skill. i think that raw intelligence can only take u so far in poker.

1320/31, but i think i lack a lot of critical thinking skills that i think make people great poker players.
