Re: Call or raise this monster?
raise and get more $$ out of flush draws, and people aren't going to assume you have the 2 so they may call now but not the turn.

Re: Call or raise this monster?
[ QUOTE ]
Excellent response, this is just what I was thinking. My plan would be to bet/raise the turn no matter what SB did, I'd either be leading or raising, but as you say its another decision that should be considered carefully. [/ QUOTE ] I actually would call the turn if SB lead it again. Flush draws are still getting good odds to call 2 cold I believe, so we're not worried about them. I want overcards to stay in for just one more street. If something like an Ace hits the river, I just call the river too. [ QUOTE ] FWIW I went into uncreative mode and simply raised the flop, folded everyoen behind me, and took it down on the turn with an uncalled bet. I feel as though I cut off my action unecessarily. [/ QUOTE ] This isn't by any means a very bad outcome. I would have been more pissed off if SB bet/folded the flop. |

Re: Call or raise this monster?
Agreed, a bet/fold from SB wouldve been bad.
But do you really think that your going to get any more money out of people by just calling the turn? i dont know if anyone is calling with just overs except for AK or AQ. If a broadway card came up on the turn, then I would like just calling if there were some calls from behind you on the flop. |

Re: Call or raise this monster?
[ QUOTE ]
My first instinct here is to raise... however, a diamond draw isn't going anywhere, there are no straight draws, and we want to keep overcards in, so a call isn't bad. If we call though, what should we do on the turn? How often SB will lead the turn and how we plan to react to that should decide whether we call or raise this flop. [/ QUOTE ] Next time just hope he has TT so you can get the action you want. |

Re: Call or raise this monster?
Raise the crap out of it. A diamond, or a ten on the turn could kick your in the teeth.

But it has nothing to do with flush draws. |

I agree that calling is probably best if villain donks the turn. But it has nothing to do with flush draws. [/ QUOTE ] I'm not talking about a donk... I'm talking about if villain leads the turn again after we call the flop. If we raise the flop, and villain donks, it's an easy call purely based on his betting pattern. Would you raise or call the flop? |

Re: Call or raise this monster?
With 5 players and a two flush board, I raise. I don't want to let anyone draw out cheaply.
