The fact that you are not hitting to the nuts isn't usually a huge deal, except when the flop gets is getting banged by several players and you are caught in between. Where the flop play is going insane in a multiway pot, a good amount of the time your flush draw aims to make a second best hand, because the ace-high draw will be one of the hands out there doing the raising.

i'm currently treating the better offsuit connectors with nearly as much respect as junk suited hands. Ed doesn't recommend playing hands like 98o at all. i know a flush draw flops a bit more often than a strait draw. But, straits often pay better since they are less obvious to observant opponenets.

I would much rather complete my SB with 98o than with 72s.
