That's the question. Sometimes there's a rock UTG. If that's the case, you could even consider folding. However, there are a lot of donks who'll be UTG, too. Raise them. Know thy opponent.

Its true that sometimes the Villain will be a rock and I won't raise him. But against an unknown, my default play at 1/2 is to raise because the odds are the limper is loose and passive and I've got a good equity edge versus his range.

I'd say UTG has his wits about him and I'm a dog around 10% of the time in a typical microlimit game. I'm usually willing to assume that he doesn't as my default play versus an unknown.
