AJ on button
No offense intended to any other posters. BUT, AJ on button against field of limpers requires a stronger raise preflop. Limping is horrible. Raise 5-6xBB if this is lower buy-in/loose, fishy table.
Flop with draw on board, reraise with TPTK. IF villain calls then push that turn card. Going with the way you played preflop, reraise flop, allin turn. Bottom line, if you're going to play that hand weakly, fold river. |

Re: Analysis of hand
The raise needs to be bigger in this buy in. I don't mind raising on the button but with 4 limpers make it at least 200 preflop.
On the flop I would reraise to 300 in this low buyin. YOu will get called by flushes 99% of the time no matter what you do. I have seen fish call all ins with 95sooted. That 9 on the turn should not have scared you so you push. PUSH!!. Btw fold to the river all in. |

Re: Analysis of hand
AJo in a multiway pot early in tourney is a a tough one because a) in my experience, you're not gonna make alot of people fold early in the tournament with a raise and b) as you can see, even if you make a pair on flop, you still have no idea where you are in the hand when there are many in the pot with you.
I remember from Hold Em Poker for Advanced Players that MM/DS said not to go in a multiway pot with AQo on the button. Although that book is not about tournaments, I think the same reasoning holds here. (I don't have the book in front of me, but I am somewhat sure that's what it said about AQo; I could be wrong). |
