I think you missed my point. The first mistake was getting involved in the hand. You could not have known who would enter the pot after you raised so the fact of who the other player was becomes moot. You raised with a marginal hand (at best) with 7 players behind you still to act. Any other errors in how the hand was played out flow from the original error.

Yes you pissed away your stack. But I don't think EVERY move was wrong. If I'm reading the numbers correctly, you had better than 3:1 pot odds to call the preflop reraise (like you did) for less than 10% of your remaining stack. And you were closing the betting. That's not a horrible call.

Every other play, before and after that one, is certainly bad.
