Re: blind defense with Q9s
I don't like the PF three bet at all.
flop, I'd rather just check here and take a free shot at hitting something this river seems like a little overkill to be honest. we have the 2nd nut straight and a bdoor flush came in. I'm not capping it after it gets three bet back at us |

Re: blind defense with Q9s
to tell you the truth, i really wasnt paying attention to villains stats preflop, i normally do, but this time i didnt
i have usually just called preflop in the past, the reason i 3-bet was because of a discussion i had with tstonembd on his website about a hand where he 3-bet K6s in a similar situation, SB in is his hand had a PFR of 9.5, so this is somewhat different, but like i said, for some reason i wasnt paying attention, a link to that discussion can be found here on the flop, i thought villain may have had an underpair or may have been trying to c/r, i figured i have little FE against a pair, but i would like to see a free river with my gutshot, so i bet the turn is pretty straightfoward, hes not folding, ill take my free card and not get c/red on the river, i didnt really put him on a flush or KQ, but they are possibilities, i thought he was probably slowplaying something on the flop and missed a c/r on the turn, but this read isnt really founded so maybe just calling the 3-bet is better, this im not really sure about, what do people think his river 3-betting range is in this hand? |

Re: blind defense with Q9s
Three-betting here pre-flop is foolish. You are most likely behind here (people who don't raise in 70 hands pre-flop aren't trying to steal your blind with J high). Call the raise, flop a pair, or else get the hell out.
The early street decisions on this hand are quite straightforward given your opponents profile. Don't outthink yourself, and certainly don't raise pre-flop here because you know you can "outplay him post-flop" or some junk like that. |

a10, 1010, AA, lower straight. [/ QUOTE ] a lower straight i kind of doubt, im thinking AA and TT are very distinct possibilities does a person whose never raised PF cap with KQ? i think he bets flop or at least c/r on the flop and not turn with AKs the more i think about the PF cap, i really dont think im behind on the river edit: i also think JJ is a possiblity |

I'd just call PF. I'd also just call the river 3-bet. [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: blind defense with Q9s
The thing about AA and TT is that theres a 4-straight on board. Villain doesn't seem to fear a straight although that may be because we all know he capped the river.
