Re: JTs and JTo and connectors in general
So I'm the only one here that doesn't like to call raises with suited connectors unless its 3+ players besides me involved? Is that a flaw in my game? If anyone is profitable with suited connectors they are making a hell of a lot more than I do. But I guess even if you aren't, it makes you less predictable and might lead your opponent to make mistakes.

Re: JTs and JTo and connectors in general
it really depends on villain's continuation bet proclivities.
and I would rather it was HU than multiway if it has to be a raised pot. if its multiway you pretty much have to flop the straight or flush because if you flop a draw, you can expect to pay much more to draw for it and its much harder to raise aggressively and win without showdown. |

Re: JTs and JTo and connectors in general
I don't like to call 3xBB raises w/ them HU even with position. I like to raise them in LP and I will occasionally limp them in EP, although I am not sure that's a good thing. I like to play SC's because they are so pretty and the possiblities seem endless.

Re: JTs and JTo and connectors in general
Call me crazy, but sometimes I like being out of position for hands like 65s. When the flop comes 43x, potting the flop gets ride of a too solid pf raiser quite a bit. If he is weak tight, you may be folding hands 88-TT. If you're in position, and he pots it, you either have to make a significant reraise, fold, or a yucky call. Obviously being in position is probably always better, but there are some benefits to being OOP I think.

Re: JTs and JTo and connectors in general
So what are your strategies with scs? Those numbers look pretty good. How do you decide when to play them, and more importantly what's the best way to play them past the flop? I seem to be terrible at handling peoples continuation bets no matter what hand I play, I usually just fold.

[/ QUOTE ] well if you usually fold then of course you will be behind. you just don't have odds to call preflop if your hope is to flop 2pair plus. alot of it is opponent dependent and flop texture dependent but I pick off quite a few continuation bets. you want a tight aggressive who is able to lay down hands. |
