I think the turn bet is mediocre since he'll have a flush draw a good % of the time.

Great! Then the bet is +EV!

It depends on why he is making the bet. If it's for value it's okay. If it's to fold out a hand because of the ace scare card, it's bad. That doesn't work.

I really have no way of knowing...

Maybe it's different in 6 max...I don't know. But, this isn't even something I think about in full ring. Easy raise on the button wth even semi-loose blinds.

OK, you win. But when people start calling you on the river with queen high and they're good, don't complain about it.

In 6max 65s on the button first in is an easy fold. With 2 tight blinds it might be worth it but it is very loose. They must release their hands a good amount of the time preflop or for 1 bet on the flop to make it +EV.
Maybe in full ring the players dont defend their blinds as much.

Hi Qtip,

The difference I have found between full ring and s/handed is that people are more likely to defend and defend aggressively in s/handed than in full ring.

So while the situation is the same your opponents will play differently therefore your 65s loses value when you attempt a steal s/handed compared to full ring.

In your particular hand I wouldn't raise preflop. Since you have the flop and turn are standard. I would fold to a turn raise but follow through any river if villain called.

If he called you on the flop, he is either drawing or he got a piece of the board. Or he is calling with crap planning to make a move on you on the turn. These pots are so small, that I dont think you lose much in the way of EV by folding them, but you can significantly increase your variance by fighting for them too hard. I'd be much more inclined to play tough if I were in position.

I do this too, especially when I have no pair. But having a pair makes a difference.
