Booker's and Black Maple Hill 16-year are my favorites. Also good are the George T. Stagg (130-proof) from the Buffalo Trace Distillery and the Pappy Van Winkle's 20-year.

For less expensive stuff, I usually go with Knob Creek.

I took a special trip to Tunica/KY just to get 2 bottles of Elmer T Lee. Great stuff.

My college roommate worked right out of college for a congressman from Kentucky who gave away Maker's Mark as a standard gift. It remains my favorite if only because I've drank it after hours in Congress. Good stuff.

Do you really like bourbon or do you just pretend to like it to make yourself feel more manly?

Ive always thought that about scotch. I do not like scotch, at all. I like sweeter liquor, hence I love bourbon.

Wild Turkey 101 is my fav out of the one's I've tried. Although there are quite a few of the very expensive brands I haven't bothered with.

This thread has been done many, many times over the last year or two. If you search for bourbon and scotch in the OOT archives, you will find some outstanding threads w/ detailed contributions and discussions from guys like me, HDPM, M2d, Flynn and a number of other very knowledgeable old drinkers. You have to search in 6-month chunks, but it is well worth it for the great threads.

And if we're getting something from Tullahoma, make it Dickel, the better whiskey.

do you really like pussy or do you just pretend to like to make yourself feel more manly?

love the [censored] more than water. But then that probably has something to do with the fact that most distillaries are within 30 minutes of my house.
