i dont know your friends situation, but im guessing he is in the married with kids and tied down to a bad job category... because the main thing stopping someone from leading my lifestyle is freedom... there is the money thing, but its not that big of a deal imho...

and I question how "not [censored] up" your buddy is for taking 20 years off his life to live like KKF.

[/ QUOTE ]

It kind of goes with the territory of being KKF. You don't get to [censored] Thai prostitutes every day without eventually having to pay the piper.

[censored] Thai prositutes every day in my filthy studio apartment with no sink seems overrated as hell, imo. count me out.

I find myself jealous of Kane, roughly zero times divided by his total posts.

[/ QUOTE ]
If people don't like the man for whatever reasons, and I have no idea what kind of money he makes, both seem irrelevant to me with regards to the question "Are you jealous of the lifestyle?". Frankly, it's hard for me to understand why anyone wouldn't be jealous. Taking off and living ad hoc in some foreign cultures sounds really enticing to me. Maybe this is because I am married with children and and the feasibilty of such an endevour is dubious, at best.

Then again, maybe I'd change my opinion after a week of no air conditioning.

Yeah, maybe its because I'm not married, though engaged, and the things I value in my life continue to occur: ie, travelling incredibly extensively, speaking multiple foreign languages, having a long-running, fulfilling relationship, carrying on studies that engage and expand me, etc.

I run around and partied, and it got old real quick. And never did I have to dip into the hooker pile.

So yeah, maybe thats why I wouldn't be jealous. And I imagine the vast majority of people reading this board, who have lived lives that also compare favorably with KKF's, by whatever their personal standards, also don't feel trapped or envious.

you didn't, but some guy above did. I realize you have a girlfriend, etc., but I think the OP was implying that if you didn't have a significant other you'd be able to [censored] Thai prostitutes whenever you wanted (which I'm sure is true)
