try making the initial cross over twice before the loops.

like X,X, loop, loop then cinch tight.

Yeah, it'll still come undone, but typically for me, only once a day instead of several times. One of life's great mysteries.

Tie them. Spray the laces w/ hairspray. You can't however untie them. Use a shoe horn to get them on and off.

Not so familar with leather laces, but try rotating the knot ~180* just before you cinch it down. This seems to help alot with regular laces.
