Re: Got myself in trouble with 88
why call the turn if you're c/f the river? you've got 2 outs to improve - you certainly don't have odds to peel here.

I got myself in trouble by being agressive pre/post flop but weak-passive afterwards. Agree? [/ QUOTE ] Yes. Just call preflop and check/fold the flop. |

Re: Got myself in trouble with 88
I'd limp with this one in EP, mainly for the possibility of trips. When I miss the flop and there are two overs in a small pot I'd fold, except against a maniac type of guy.

Re: Got myself in trouble with 88
Preflop is ok.
I fold this flop with 2 overcards against 3 opponents. As you didn`t the turn is tuff. I tend to bet and fold to a raise. Why do you fold the river. You did not give villain credit for a hand so far. You should find a fold somewhere else in the hand - as you went to the river: call. |

Re: Got myself in trouble with 88
From UTG+1 I'm usually limping pocket 8's. There are just way too many bad flops out their for 88. Post flop, I'm check folding.

Just out of interest, why the raise preflop in early position ?? [/ QUOTE ] This hand shows why it is hard to play a mid-pair from EP. You are expected to be the aggressor on the flop. Add several LPP's CC'ing you pre-flop, and it's really tough to bet into them with the overcard flop. Since they are calling stations, you don't know if they have made their hands. |
