Re: Good Books For Winning In NLHE Cash Games
I haven't personally read it, but Getting Started in Hold 'Em by Ed Miller has been well-received and includes discussion about NL cash games. GSIH and Harrington Vol. 1 are probably the best starting points.
I also highly recommend Theory of Poker and Pot Limit and No Limit Hold 'Em, but these are obviously more advanced and you will get more out of them after you have been playing for a while. |

Re: Good Books For Winning In NLHE Cash Games
Harrington on Holdem - even though it's a tourney book, the great explanations of pot odds and implied odds (easier than sklansky's) make it worthwile

Re: Good Books For Winning In NLHE Cash Games
Not many people ever recommend Stewart Reuben's "How good is your pot limit holdem". It's had some bad reviews but I like it. Not all of the advice in it is recommended, some of the hands seem to be in there for entertainment value. But, a lot of the advice is good and it certainly helped my post-flop play. Because you can't just push in pot limit, you have to consider post flop issues.
And yes, it is the same Reuben from Caffione and Reuben's Pot Limit and No limit poker. |

Re: Good Books For Winning In NLHE Cash Games
I need to buy a new monitor after spitting mountain dew all over this one reading the comments on that book.
[ QUOTE ] Hysterical graphics such as rear view of child sitting on toilet with the poop in midair, which we see between the gap in his buttock cheeks. [/ QUOTE ] This is the one that made me lose it... [ QUOTE ] Though the book cover would lead you to believe otherwise, apples do not poop. Neither does my friend Matt, but I guess you can't expect children's books to take into account unlikely medical conditions. Otherwise, it's a pretty good book. [/ QUOTE ] This is just classic.. [ QUOTE ] So buy "Everyone Poops" and share it with the ones you love. [/ QUOTE ] Why would you do that? |
