So what advice can you give me to stop myself from getting into early confrontations when I do not have the best of it?

A mantra?

A device that will give me an electrical shock if I go all in on a probably losing hand?

Something?

If your problem is doing stupid stuff without proper contemplation get a 15 second hourglass and do not make a decison until the sand runs out. Also eliminates any sort of time to act tells.

If you can provide an example hand where you busted out (or thought you may have played badly), that would be quite helpful.

BTW, is there any difference between busting out early & making it to the 2nd half? Keep in mind that the short-term luck factor is very powerful over the course of a few tournaments (especially low-stake tourneys).
