I'm from St Pete, and go to many Rays games. He's not very annoying at all, and usually very entertaining. He picks a certain player each game and heckles him all throughout his at bat. He is silent the rest of the game.

The heckler that used to sit behind the visitor's bench at Bullets games was Robin Ficker. I believe he was/is a DC area attorney that would run quixotic campaigns for US Senate. During the last election cycle he would stand in front of the entrances to sporting venues in the DC/Baltimore area gladhanding fans as they entered the arena/stadium.
I, too, love the Tampa Bay heckler. He comes through clear as a bell when the Orioles play Tampa in St. Pete. What magnifies his voice is that the domed stadium is almost always empty and his rantings reverberate throughout the building. It looks like he always has a kid sitting with him. Maybe it his son. |
