Are you talking to live or visit? Where are you from again? Definitely, definitely go to Vegas for your first big poker trip and it's not close. The action at mid and high limits is better in AC (particularly stud), but Vegas is Vegas. Play, get crazy drunk, go to some gentlmen's clubs, party, you just have to visit there. But...for a stud player like you, I say definitely visit AC at some point also. Hit both...there, problem solved.

Not to live, just to visit. I live in St. Louis right now. My birthday is December 30 so I will be on Christmas break from college, (still another year though) so I'm planning on going for about a week or so. BTW I'm almost certain I'm goin up to Canterbury from OCT. 19-23 if anyone is going to be in that area. Andy says they have a juicy H/L game going around that time I would like to play in. Anyway, probably going to hit Vegaas for my first big trip in December and then maybe head to AC when I get out for that summer. Anyone who want to meet up in vegas let me know. That would be cool.

Well actually I live in St. Louis, but I go to school about 3.5 hours away in Springfield and will be there when you are in town. Anyway, from what I've heard, Ameristar has the best games. I think they spread holdem up to 30-60 and have NL up to 5-10, maybe 10-25? Pretty sure the only stud game is a 1-5 but I might be wrong and I doubt it even goes. I think they spread some Omaha as well. You're best bet is definitely holdem though. let me know if you want to know something about places to visit, eat, etc

we are staying at the Westin on Spruce Street. Is this by any chance near any of the casinos? i am not sure if we are going to have a car yet and was hoping I could take a cab depending on where it is.

also, if you know anything good around there, food or drink-wise, i am all ears...

edit: i just looked at mapquest. looks like car it is.

Not sure exactly where Spruce is, but I'm pretty sure its down town. You're definitely going to need a car or taxi to get to any casinos from there. I don't think they are too far from car, but definitely too far to walk. As far as food, any place on the Hill is great if you like italian food. Excellent. If you get to Westport there are also some really nice restaurants there. If you are in the mood for ice cream/concretes definitely stop by Ted Drew's. They are famous for the best in St. Louis. As far as bars and such, I don't know a lot since I'm not 21, but the Landing is the main hot spot (close to Soulard) They have all types of different bars down there. Let me know if you want any other ideas.

Mike
