Re: how do you play AQ and AJ EP and MP...
Fold AQo in EP. No, I'm not kidding.
Fold AJo in EP. You don't need to play AJo in MP 1 limper either. Call with 22-66 in all positions (raising them in late if folded to you isn't awful). Ryan |

[ QUOTE ] 1. How do you play AQo EP ? 2. AJo in EP? 3. AJo in MP 1 limper 4. pocket 2 to pocket 6 in EP 1. Raise 2. Call, sometimes fold 3. Call 4. Call 70%, Fold 30% [/ QUOTE ] I hope you realize that folding PP up front 30% of the time is idiotic. Either limp bcause its +EV or just fold. [/ QUOTE ] hmm, i dont understand, you tell me to either limp or fold, isnt that what im doing? heh Reason why im folding sometimes is when table is tight and also i remember reading that you shouldnt play low pocket pairs from EP. But maybe that was limit... |

hmm, i dont understand, you tell me to either limp or fold, isnt that what im doing? heh [/ QUOTE ] No, you have to either alwyas limp or always fold. If you always fold you lose nothing. And let's say that if you will win 10% of the time when you limp. If you only limp 70% of the time, you will only win 7% of the time. |

Re: how do you play AQ and AJ EP and MP...
Unless you have reason to believe that you are going to be raised for more than, say, 5xBB by the time it gets back to you, call with all low pockets in EP. The implied odds of sets cannot be overemphasized in SSNL.

NO!
Don't play drawing hands in early position. Axs is often awful even in late position if there aren't enough limpers. Look for reasons not to play hands in SSNL rather than reasons to play them. Ryan |

Ryan [/ QUOTE ] Do you always raise hands like JQ, T9s, 76s, in LP then to make up for your very tight calling standards from EP? What's your VP$IP? Is it just your own style of play that makes AQ from EP un playable, or do you think it is a poor hand in general? If the pot is raied I'm probably folding. But in an unraised pot, I can make money with AQ against A7 through AJ. Of course, you have to be weary of two pair, but if you play cautious and aggressive, I see no reason why AQ can't be profitable from EP. |
