Yeah, I've read that. I might try that. I sounds like it would probably work for me.

When I'm bonus clearing, I don't believe I play any different than when I'm not. Although this was the first bonus period where near the end I had to tighten up because the tables went tight.

These past bonuses I 4-tabled for the first time, and that did have an affect on my play when I had 3 hands active at the same time, but soon enough I grew accustomed to it.

I also hit a bit of a downturn going into these bonuses, so variance slapped me a bit running into some tough luck on big pots. But I don't attribute that with the fact that I was clearing a bonus at the time.

It used to be that I got a little crazy towards the end of the bonus when I was clearing them at .5/1, since so comparatively few hands are raked at .5/1 vs. 1/2. Maybe I'm still in the honeymoon period of clearing at 1/2 that it seems fast to me.

Why do you change your game for bonus period? To ensure more hands are raked? So many are raked at 1/2 I don't really understand that. I cleared 1700 raked hands in about 2500-2700 hands.

I'm the last one to tell anyone how to play their game, but surely there's a better way than turning down free money. At least until you get up into the higher limits where $100 isn't even a buy-in at the table.

When I bonus clear at Paradise I play 1/2. Nearly all hands are raked at that level and the rake is lower. I just play my normal TAG (that's right, Saint) game. There's no time limit to clear and since I only 1 table a couple of hours a night I clear $10 per session there. That clears the bonus in 10 days with few sessions with losses. I feel that I can get good reads and work on situations better with one table. I see poker winnings as free money much the same as you see bonii. So, even playing just 100 hands and clearing $10 in bonus at 1/2, I'm making 2.5BB/hr plus profits.

So, I guess my point is to play the game where the rake is guaranteed nearly every hand and play as many tables that you can do optimally without going into auto-mode. I find that to be at 1/2. YMMV.
