Considering that when I lived in Canada the Canadian dollar was worth MORE than the American dollar, that's still pretty relative.

Makes me want to spend $30 on an old 17" crt that does 1600x1200 just fine.

Though seems like it would be fairly easy for the driver to allow 1600x1200 on a 1280x1024 lcd by dropping pixels and scaling the image down.

The 9300 is usually listed for $1800 CDN - I've recently seen it as low as $1650ish.

At this very moment dell.ca has it listed for $1799.

If you were to pay $2000+ for this laptop you'd be a bit of a chump.

Last dell sale they were selling the 2001FP for 500 cnd I believe. I forget exactly what, but it was cheap!

why wouldn't you save a ton of money, and have no overlap, by buying a 1600x1200 CRT?

the Dell 19 lcd seems like the worst of both worlds

The question should be... what's similar between the two? The only thing is the Dell brand. These are two completely different panels. The E193 is a 6-bit TN panel which uses dithering to simulate the entire 8-bit spectrum for each color, has limited viewing angles, especially vertically, but has a quicker response time. For graphics and office work, you probably want the 1905FP. For gaming, the E193 is a better choice. For poker? You pick... I own a 1905FP and absolutely love it but it can't play games worth sh*t.

Yeah, got my 2001FP for $650 CDN including taxes and shipping.
