Re: Just for curiosity\'s sake.....(not strategy/low content)
I think some of the bigger Grosvenors spread NL cash games, almost every casino runs tourneys. The only othe rplace I know of to play cash games is Gutshot in London...

Re: Just for curiosity\'s sake.....(not strategy/low content)
Theres a £1-2 PL game thats happens regularly during the week at my local (Westcliff casino). Theres an hourly £5 table charge which everyone has to pay, but if you could see how soft the game is...
Really can't wait until i've reached a BR for 1-2 online, then I can start putting a roll together for that very juicy game. |

Live is much looser. 25NL on PP is roughly equivalent to 1-2 NL at Foxwoods. These tables are predominantly filled with loose low-skilled players.

Re: Just for curiosity\'s sake.....(not strategy/low content)
Here's my list of why online is tougher and tighter to play than live poker.....
1. Difficulty in setting up an account and depositing/withdrawing money.....likely keeps a lot of amateurs away 2. Online players have access to playing poker daily....B&M players that don't play online probably have logged far less hands and this makes them less experienced 3. People drink more in live games (not a lot of fun to get drunk alone with your computer only to lose your money to an online nit.) 4. It's far easier to be an online pro than a B&M pro. (For someone living in Barrow Alaska, for example, it would require a huge lifestyle change to locate oneself near a casino etc. No tips online and not only is rake lower but you get rakeback, and you can multitable allowing you to smooth out variance and survive on a smaller br). 5. Ability to multitable makes players able to be more patient in their starting hand standards online, and maybe even laydown a hand postflop, as they know it won't be long before they can flop another big hand. 6. People that play on the internet are more likely to also search the internet for playing strategies....some people I see at B&M...well it's unlikely they even know how to use it. 7. It's a lot more expensive to be a losing internet player than someone who plays at B&M exclusively in most cases...hands come too fast, and its always available for the degenerate gamblers out there, not that they ever become good, but most probably become good enough so that they lose their money a little more slowly. ............... A couple reasons why online can be looser 1. Little to no embarassment at playing badly. (Turn player chat off and that becomes absolutely none.) 2. Probably more underage players online who may play a lot worse than they realize, and may lack a healthy respect for money, and simply don't have as much experience as older players. 3. You can play much shorter online. (Most online sites let you buy in for 1/10 the buy in which would never fly at B&M). These players are willing to reraise you all in on hopeless bluffs or go all in on draws when they must know they'll get called, just because they're playing so short. Add in the fact that there's little embarassment in all this and I think its the main factor that keeps internet poker from being even tighter than it is. Well that's all I can think of for now... |

Re: Just for curiosity\'s sake.....(not strategy/low content)
Live 1-2, 2-4, and occasionally 5-10 plays like Party $25.
The 1-2 and 2-4 games at Sycuan casino in San Diego are consistently much better (looser, wilder) than a Party 25. |
