Re: \"That kind of element\"
Very interesting responses to this, and I'm sure they're on the money. I've never played in Vegas, but I've played in several southern California cardrooms with BBJ....I never saw a situation, however, where people played much different than they would have otherwise.
The Phoenix situation mentioned absolutely befuddles me....that's amazing. |

Ugh...it's stories like these that keep me out of the casinos and keep me playing online. [/ QUOTE ] And if you're a decent player, by all means, you SHOULD only play online. Please do not come to the casinos. Onaflag......... |

Re: \"That kind of element\"
One of the things I love about playing at Wynn is that the retard local nit factor is way way lower than either the bellagio or the mirage.

Re: \"That kind of element\"
anything with a large bad beat jackpot will also draw nitty tight locals. Anything daytime with any kind of decent comps will also. High hand bonuses draw them too, but not as much as comps or badbeat jackpots. Ironically, places like paris and bally's may have the fishiest games because they don't comp and don't have bad beat jackpots or high hand bonuses, it's nearly pure tourists. Fishy games easily make up for the pittance you get in poker comps, and the rest (jackpots, high hands) basically stink for us good players anyway.

Re: \"That kind of element\"
California players are basically so wild that these discussions of jackpot chasing comp demanding local nits don't apply there at all.

Do BBJs really attract high numbers of undesirable poker element? And what kind/why? [/ QUOTE ] Play for an hour at Palace Station and all will be made clear. One thing noone has mentioned is to watch out for games with half blinds accompanied by any sort of jackpot. Small blinds are ideal for the call/check down strat. |

Re: \"That kind of element\"
Oh yea, and I want to add that I hate these kinds of games.
One time, I was playing Omaha at Viejas and check the nut flush on the turn. The lady on my immediate left bets and 3 or 4 people call, I then raise. The lady bettor stops, glares at me, and says I’m stupid for raising because there’s a straight flush draw possible. Are you F-ing kidding me!? Yea, I’m sure your precious jackpot will get screwed up because someone called a single bet but will now fold their potential straight flush and BB jackpot hand for a single more bet. Moron. |
