Really now, there's a huge difference between playing for match sticks and $10 on the table. That's not the same thing at all, and it's not even close for that matter. I don't know how the 45 days thing came up(Is that some sort of a Party Poker time limit?), but regardless, with a month and a half of someone who's bright playing for small money and maybe brushing up on some book info at the same time, yeah I'd say that could make a huge difference in his play. I'm assuming of course that the player isn't a totally unrepentant fool.

Also, just because someone might be fairly inexperienced doesn't make them a "fish". Idiots in poker come in all experience levels and ages from what I've seen in person and on-line.

As for PP offering the lower limit and buy-ins, I think this is a directly competitive idea related to Ultimate Bet which runs those same limits/buy-ins. If it means more players, then it's probably a very good thing for the game. More players at any limit on-line means more players at $3/6 or $4/8 the next time you go to your favorite card room. I also think it might come in handy for a player who's involved in a tournament but who wants a 2nd game to play at the same time. For me, if it's a tournament I'm taking seriously, I'm not going to want to open up a side table where I've got $100 out there, but I'd gladly open up one where I've got $10 out there. So they've got use.

That is right. I checked it out just now. I guess the usefulness I was speculating on is null. Funny about that.

to be able to play at party beginner tables, you need an account less that 45 days old

LOL, you read my mind. The first thing I thought was if I'm on tilt, I can go sit at a micro limit table and just move that slider across all I want. Guess I'll still have to do it $25 at a time.

Or you could open an account at a site with smaller limits.

doesnt seem like too bad of a thing, since they would prolly be playing in those beginner tables we cant get at anyway. they screw around there with some other fish, end up making some money even possibly, get all confident thinking they can win. then get ran over by us. blame it on luck and rebuy, thinking they will start winning again.

I think that's one side of the coin. The other side of the coin is the people that lose their money/get tired of online poker in 45 days. These players never make it to the other tables so we will never get a shot at them. I don't know how many people stop within the first 45 days of playing online poker but I'd guess there decent amount (maybe 15% or so).
