The whole situation seems like a scandal to me. They know how bad it is going to hit, they know that a substantial amount of people will ignore the evacuation order. That means that they should have been able to get the logistics of relief up and running prior to the hurricane (designating building as aid centers, having trucks/boats/helicopters with supplies and personnel ready to go in there immediately after the hurricane).

Helicoptering in a few filtration systems and setting them up in various spots around the city would likely be easier.

You are apparently much more knowledgeable in this area than those on the scene. Perhaps you could go down there and show them how to do it.

You left something out of your post:

"It's all Bush's fault for being in Texas."

You never forget to include that when you post in that other forum you frequent.

Go back to politics, jackass.

It is getting me pissed off. The fed govv't waited five days before assisting people after Hurricane Andrew. It was absolute chaos here after that storm. They said it would never happen again. BS. How can they not be dropping supplies right now? WTF! This is making a horrible situation worse.

At least he seems to have a clue. The same cannot be said for our elected officials

4 days now without any sort of food/water drops is beyond ridiculous and heads need to roll over this. Considering how much $ we've sunk into FEMA/Homeland security since 9/11 this should not be an issue at all. Getting food, water and National Guard into NO is not that difficult.

Things are difficult in the city when you're being shot at. There's a whole line of people who came with their boats to help bring people out, but they're being held outside the city because boats and other vehicles are being shot at by people trying to commandeer them.

Yeah gee wiz, if only we had some sort of coordinated group people wearing uniforms that had supplies, equipment, the means to get it there, perform massive airlifts, perform massive supply drops and where paid to get shot at occasionally.
