Re: Preflop play with a maniac a few seats to my right
Well... this hand occurred about a half hour before that hand (where SB is the maniac):

Re: Preflop play with a maniac a few seats to my right
I would definitely 3 bet the 88 preflop. Folding the TT is ok.
To the guy who wanted to wait for better spots. If these aren't good enough spots you should really leave the table, you won't win and just fold fold fold and its no fun either. -DeathDonkey |

Re: Preflop play with a maniac a few seats to my right
I edited my post and I do think the 88 hand is obviously a mistake to fold preflop. I would probably cold call it though. I just think the 1010 hand is going to be really hard to play, especially as I'm 4 tabling on my crappy little laptop. So personally I'd take pass, but it would depend on just how much the maniac is jamming it up post flop (which sounds like a ton), and how much the maniac's play is affecting the three betting standards of the 3 bettor. I will think you find better spots, but if I was one tabling and getting better reads I'm for sure mixing it up. It is bad advice though probably to tell others not to get involved so I will refrain in the future.
